So, the other night, Kenzie and I were starting to "wind down" for the night, when out of the corner of my eye I saw something scurry across the floor... at first I thought it was a mouse- no biggie, but upon further glance (and turning my head) I literally FLIPPED OUT. After a few choice words (noted: not my finest parenting moment, I'm sure) I grabbed Kenzie- put her away in our room, the hurled Panzer in Kenzie's bedroom (Lord knows that cat would decide to be curious tonight!). When I went back into the living room I noticed Daisy- whining on the couch looking at me like "THAT'S ALL YOU." Great- nice guard dog (although I wouldn't have wanted her to go after this thing). I got closer to the "spider"- I say "spider" because this was basically a baby tarantula. NO JOKE. Upon further (quick) calculations I realized that not even Caleb's boot was going to squish this thing (that is to say if I got THAT close to it)... so, off to the kitchen I ran. I entered the living room with a frying pan and some sort of car cleaner (don't judge- my neighbor had our bug-spray)... that's about the time my neighbor called me back, so I practically begged (although I used alcohol as a bribe) for her husband to come over and kill it. On a side note, I'd like to add, that while her husband was deployed, Caleb was called on several occassions. What seemed like 20minutes (which was only like 2minutes) my neighbor came in with a newspaper. By that time, I had lost sight of the spider and had even removed my couch... but said it probably went into the hallway or Kenzie's room... he opened the door of Kenzie's room only to spurt out another few choice words (by this time I'm sure Kenzie was either sound asleep, or had heard it before when I said things)... "so- you think that newspaper is going to do the trick? Because... I totally have a pan." "That's seriously the biggest spider I've ever seen outside of a zoo." A few thwacks of a large book, and the spider was gone- flushed down the toilet "just to be safe". While I was relieved that he KNEW I wasn't exaggerating, I was like oh, crap... THAT was IN MY HOUSE. I dialed the maintenance #, only to leave a voicemail as this wasn't technically an emergency (they actually go through a list of "what's qualified as an emergency"). Nope- MASSIVE SPIDER/baby tarantula wasn't on that list. So... guess who DID NOT sleep that night? This girl. I even left every light on in the house (because, spiders are totally scared of the dark right?) ;)
The next morning I got called from the maintenance team, telling me that they had already scheduled someone to come out TODAY (before noon) to spray. I'm telling you- I don't think I've ever let out a bigger sigh of relief... welllllllllll, around 11:45am, I was still waiting. I called back, only to be told "ohh, mam, I'm so sorry, I FORGOT to put you on the schedule". Wellllllllllll, my response was (after a big breath as to not freak out on this poor woman who've I already called several times within the last week- c'mon now, I live in a "historic" home- and any military wife can attest to living in a military home... yes, it's a house, but yeesh... let me tell you) "lady, you've GOTTA get someone here- TODAY. I'm serious... I, I... I just can't wait another day. I have a BABY here." About 20 minutes later she called me, to only say that "someone CAN in fact come out today, but it's not going to make a difference because you live on a military post, it's a "no kill" type deal..." (what in the world?!?!) Basically, the guy could come out and spray, but it's a "bait"- which, we did at our old house when we had ants- and this "bait" works for 14 days... so, for 2 WEEKS, you've got ants coming out of every wood work to get this spray, only to HOPEFULLY bring it back to their colony to kill the rest off... can you even imagine TRYING to do that with spiders? No freakin' way. Nope. So, after telling her that the man could come out to spray ONLY OUTSIDE (in theory, thinking that the spiders would get attracted to go OUTSIDE) I headed to Walmart to get every "non toxic" spider concoction I could get my hands on. I swear I must've looked like a ghost buster... praise the Lord my neighbors were either inside, or too nice to judge me... 3 tubs later (I either didn't take account of the square footage, or overkilled on the spray- I'm thinking the latter... but whatev). I'm not even going to tell you if I've seens a spider since, because heaven help me if I do say, and I see another spider tonight. December can't come soon enough!

Hey daddy! It's me- Kenzie... in case you forgot because mommy and I have taken a MONTH off of writing you letters on here (sorry!)- but the beginning part we had a REALLY good excuse- you were home with us!! We had such an amazing time with you- HOME... can't wait until you're home again with us- a few more months! :) Mommy and I look back at the pictures from the airport and RR- we can't help but smile at all of them- meeting you, having you hold me (and mommy), and just finally seeing you after so long/meeting you was the BEST feeling in the entire world... it's my FAVORITE day I've had EVER... I know I've only been around for almost 3 months, but still... it was mommy and I's favorite day- soo awesome. Thanks for all the many things you do for us- we had such a great time during those 15 days with you... loved every minute! Mommy and I absolutely loved waking up to you every morning and going to bed with you every night... and I just loved, loved, LOVED being held by you and snuggling with you as much as we could... you're the best daddy anyone could ever ask for- I love you so much!!

Last night Uncle Al, Aunt Jean, and Grandpa came over to help pack up the trailer... I just watched and hung out (the tough life I live huh!?) They were all such great help- Nana made dinner, and Uncle Nate helped too (Grandpa Timmons had to work, and Grandma Lohman was with HER mom) but it was really nice- we have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF though! Well, I guess I have too much stuff- I'm pretty spoiled!! Some of the things will have to stay up here until later- like your golf clubs, and other random stuff. Anyways- I loved skyping with you too- it made my day (and mommy's!) I'm a little upset none of you woke me up to skype though until the end- what's that all about!? Jk.. I needed my beauty rest- but loved hearing you and mommy talk... I love you so much daddy! Can't wait until December to see you- it's almost/just about September! YEAH! HI DADDY! It was Nana's birthday today- Mama made her a big sign so that when she woke up she could start "celebrating" her day ;) She had to work, but when she got home Mama took her out to dinner and I stayed with Great Aunt Jean. Mama and Nana went to Qdoba and the mall area to run errands- it's what Nana wanted to do! (Grandpa had to work and Uncle Nate had football all night). When the girls got home I snuggled up with Mama, but we had a HUGE storm come through. Mama and Nana said they hadn't seen lightening like they did in a long time... Mama held me all night (I slept on her chest) because EVERY TIME there was a 'big boom' my whole body would shake- I wasn't really scared of the lightening/thunder, but it just startled me... EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. It was a long night for Mama- me too, but I slept more than her so we'll see how Friday goes.
We didn't hear from you yesterday- we know you can't help it, but we were really bummed (we know you're bummed too). We're still hoping and praying you get your RR this week- we just can't wait to see you! We love you so much daddy- can't wait until you're home to hold me (and Mama) and snuggle... can't wait! See you soon!

WHOA! Today was a LONG day (for Mama that is)... I definitely didn't sleep much more than 45 minutes ALL day... sometimes I just like to cuddle and not do ANYTHING, but I also don't want to go to sleep... so, Mama put me in my carrier that you got us and walked around a bit outside, and did some cleaning in the house... we LOVED talking to you! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS TRIED SKYPING WITHOUT ME THOUGH! NOT COOL guys... not cool. I know your voice daddy- I hear it every day, and HAVE heard it almost every day since I could hear inside Mama... sorry that you guys didn't get to skype "alone" but ya know... I just was so excited to SEE you and hear your voice. I was dreaming about you actually when you TRIED skyping without me, but then I was like "wait a second... that's HIM!" so yeah, sorry again, but if it makes you feel any better you TOTALLY made MY DAY! I LOVE you so much daddy- you're seriously my hero and I can't wait until you're here with us and you can cuddle me and talk to me... in person. I promise when you get here I'll let you have some time with your friends and Mama, but for right now, it's really the only thing I look forward to... so, thanks for letting me skype- I like when we ALL 3 skype too :)

Hi daddy! How's your day going?! Mine went well... hung out at the house... I was up ALMOST all day! It was a bit rough on Mama, but sometimes I just feel like if I sleep I'll miss out on things... BUT I also like to be held or cuddled when I'm really tired (which I was today) so Mama didn't get much done... oh well- it is what it is... maybe tomorrow I'll take it easier on her.

Hi dad! I got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Lohman's house tonight to hang out... Mama WAS going to go to the tanner, but decided not to (it's a bit expensive AND she knows she shouldn't be going...) but she went and ran some errands, then went to the house and did some stuff to get ready for YOU to come home! :) (I can't tell you what they did- it's a secret, but you'll like it!- it's not a big deal, so don't get too excited though) ;)
Anyways, I went to their house tonight- it was fun. Grandma made cookies for Grandpa to take with him to TN to see Uncle Lee and Aunt Bree. When I got there, I was hungry (Mama did it so that they could feed me a bottle because Grandma doesn't get to much) but then, GRANDPA wanted to give me my bottle... it was funny. I took it easy on him- didn't mess around because he was SO nervous about how to do it... must've forgotten what to do since you were born! He did good- Grandma critiqued him a bit, but really, he did good. It's a bottle to me- it's food either way, so I could really care less how you feed me, but I DO like when you look at me- if you're doing something else while feeding me (Mama tries to be on the computer or reading to me while I eat but it doesn't work...I like the focus ON ME so I "choke" and then for the remainder of my bottle I know the attention is on me... hehe. I'm really smart daddy- I've got almost all the "tricks" figured out, and have just about everyone wrapped around my finger :)

Hey there daddy! We slept in today... totally missed church :( Mama always feels bad when we miss church, but it WAS really nice to just sleep in- sometimes I get too cranky when I wake up that it makes the rest of the day lonngggggggggggg. Either way, we read a few stories out of my Bible and my FAVORITE book- yours! I like both books that you made for me, but the Christmas one is getting kind of old- just because it's JULY! HAHA. Mama said we're going to celebrate my first Christmas whenever you get home... I can't wait! What am I getting? Jk... I know it's a little early, but not really if you think about it! Just sayin'... you guys have to start thinking about ME now with gift-giving... hehe.

Nana hadn't had much "Kenzie time" so I got to fall asleep on her chest as her and Mama watched some tv- they watched "Surprise Homecoming" which is about soldiers coming home from war and surprising their families... Nana bawled a lot, and Mama got a bit teary-eyed, but not so much just because she said you're coming home to us sooooooooooooon! WE CAN'T WAIT! I hope you have had a good day daddy- I LOVE YOU!

Hey there my HERO! I hope you had the best day that you could! I had a really good day... Mama was supposed to go to a wedding, but wasn't feeling good still so decided to stay home (she wasn't THAT excited about going anyways, so it all worked out)... BUT I went to Grandma and Grandpa's house... I had so much fun with them and they LOVED having me there... Grandma held me for a bit, I slept, played with Daisy, watched the cats play together, and listen to Grandma read me stories. I got to stay there about 6 hours! Aren't you impressed that Mama wasn't with me for 6 whole hours?! I was... she is getting ready for you to come home so that I can stay with someone for awhile so that you guys can go out :) Mama and I felt kind of bad because as soon as she picked me up, Grandpa came home so he didn't get to spend much time with me (we stayed for a bit while he was there so he could see me)... it was so funny though- when Mama and I got to their house they were ALL waiting for me (and Mama) at the door- Daisy, Grandpa, and Grandma! It was funny :) After Mama picked me up I cuddled with her for a bit and read my books from you (my favorite) and then I fell asleep until Nana got home... then woke up for a bit because she kept talking to me :) I fell asleep and slept through the night (only woke Mama up once!) and dreamed about you the WHOLE time! Mama laughs because I smile when I sleep :) I love you so much daddy- can't wait until you're home with us!

Mama wasn't feeling good, so her and I just hung out at the house- I got a bath :) and we read books, did tummy time (which I HATE), and cuddled a lot... Hi Daddy! Mama and I hung out all day today- for MOST of the day we just snuggled... it was just too hot to do anything! (even IN the air-conditioned house!) Mama gave me a bath today, and then she laid down for a bit while Nana held me (Mama wasn't feeling good at all- we think it's the heat)... when Mama woke up from her 30minute nap she laid down with me on the floor so that I could play on my playmat and do tummy time. I am starting to "hit" the toys that hang from the play-mat and I giggle... I really don't know HOW to hit the stuff because I'm still learning how to use my arms, but every now and then I'll hit my toys, they shake, Mama says "yeah Kenzie", I get excited and then try again... it's fun.
Grandma Lohman came over for a bit tonight too- she brought us a BUNCH of vegetables from the garden at the Shalom barn. Grandpa brought up Uncle Nate's swing from the basement, cleaned it up and put me in it- I have TWO swings now! I really liked Uncle Nate's swing- I was in the living room and just swung back/forth and watched the fan (I LOVE watching the fans in the house)... and Mama set up my pack-n-play, which was QUITE involved/intense for a pack-n-play because it has a changing table, chair, and hammock part to it... PLUS the directions were in spanish, french, and THEN English.. Hey there Daddy! I took several naps today (figured I'd give Mama a break)- it's still SUPER hot here so we didn't do much... as usual though, we LOVED talking to you and seeing you on skype! :)
When Nana and Grandpa got home today, Mama went to the tanners (and got quite burnt! haha- that's what she gets)... and then Walmart to get a few things (some stuff for RR I guess)... Grandpa and I watched the Tiger's game, and Uncle Nate wanted to go swimming again with his friend Sean at the Nichols' house, so Nana cuddled with me- Mama took the boys- everyone wanted to stay home and hold me/play with me, but Nana won- she ALWAYS wins because she just tells Mama she needs time with me and that Mama gets to be with me ALL day... it's kinda nice being fought over! I can't wait until you're home to play with me and hold me... I CAN'T WAIT!
Not much else dad- again, I sleep- A LOT! Oh, Mama gave me a bath today- she laughed because the water was just SO NICE and relaxing that I peed a little bit... whoops. Oh well, Mama hadn't taken a shower yet, so no biggie... I have to admit though- it's SO NICE getting a bath/suds up/massaged with lotion afterwards (Mama LOVES the smell!) by someone... really nice. I can't promise anything, but I'll try not to pee when you give me a bath when you come home... deal?!

Grandpa and I watched the Tiger's game, and Uncle Nate wanted to go swimming again with his friend Sean at the Nichols' house, so Nana cuddled with me- Mama took the boys- everyone wanted to stay home and hold me/play with me, but Nana won- she ALWAYS wins because she just tells Mama she needs time with me and that Mama gets to be with me ALL day... it's kinda nice being fought over! I can't wait until you're home to play with me and hold me... I CAN'T WAIT!
Not much else dad- again, I sleep- A LOT! Oh, Mama gave me a bath today- she laughed because the water was just SO NICE and relaxing that I peed a little bit... whoops. Oh well, Mama hadn't taken a shower yet, so no biggie... I have to admit though- it's SO NICE getting a bath/suds up/massaged with lotion afterwards (Mama LOVES the smell!) by someone... really nice. I can't promise anything, but I'll try not to pee when you give me a bath when you come home... deal?!

Happy Anniversary Daddy! Did you ever think that 3 years into your marriage with Mama that you'd have me!? ;) Mama and I hung out during the day, because I was up ALL day. Really, the only time that I wasn't grumpy or crying (for no reason, really), was when we were skyping you. Needless to say, Mama was SUPER tired, but she didn't get to go to bed until I went to sleep late at night.
Nana and her best friend since she was really little (like 6) went out to dinner, so Mama took Uncle Nate and his friend to Taco Bell for dinner (she didn't have anything- don't get too excited about her trying THAT stuff! haha) and then to Lisa Nichols' house to swim. I was STILL up by the time Nana and her friend got home and Mama had to get the boys... yup. Nana wanted to hold me for a bit, and Mama was a bit relieved since I didn't let her really put me down at all during the day, so Mama finally got dinner around 10pm- she just had some fruit and yogurt because she wasn't even hungry by the time she finally got food. I was STILL up at 11:30 and still quite fussy, so Mama took me upstairs to our room and her stubborness/strong-will/determination to get me to sleep FINALLY paid off and I went to bed about 11:45. Mama fell asleep shortly after (if not WHILE she was rocking me to sleep)... I DID however get a break and only woke up at 4:47 this morning to have a bottle, then woke up again at 9am to have another bottle. I'm currently sleeping so Mama quick got on the computer to write this up for you :) We love you so much daddy- can't wait to see you!

Hey daddy! It was SO HOT outside today- you saw me on skype so you already know I got to be naked all day... well, until we had to run errands. We mailed your box today! I hope it gets there soon so that you can enjoy your JJ chips on the plane HOME! :) :) :) :) (a smile from Daisy, Panzer, Mama, and I).
When we got home I slept in a pile of blankets- your guys' green fleecey one is what I LOVE... I can't get enough of it daddy! I love it- maybe I can get my own blanket like that when you get home?- that way you and Mama can have it back...
Mama made dinner for Nana, Uncle Nate, and herself (I only get formula dang it)... then Unce Nate and Mama went out to the mall to get some clothes AND to return my bottle warmer because it broke, but Mama and Uncle Nate didn't have TOO much time and actually ran out of time trying stuff on sooooo I still have a broken bottle warmer, but it's cool- it's actually a lot quicker withOUT the warmer... so I'm ok- I know she's going to get a new one though... soon. She found some cute clothes!- Nana said they weren't really "motherly" but Mama said she's not going to be getting "mom clothes" EVER... hopefully you like them, but if not, it's ok... but I LIKE THEM! :)
Uncle Nate and Mama got a free movie rental from Blockbuster (they have Blockbuster things like the Redbox things)- it was called "Just Go With It"- it has your girl Jennifer Aniston in it, so Mama doesn't think you'd like it as much as she did, but they all laughed... and then we had to turn it off because we got a huge storm and it almost took the power out, but since Mama's laptop was charged, her and Uncle Nate finished the movie that way... haha.
I love you so much daddy! Can't wait to see you- in like 16 days! YEAH!

Hi dad! Mama had to go to a shower today in South Haven- I was invited too, but Mama had to help with things (she helped host the shower) so she decided to let me stay home with Nana)- Uncle Nate, his friend, and Grandpa all went with her (the boys stayed at the beach) so it was just Nana and I... I slept for maybe a half hour and then just stayed awake so that Nana could talk to me and feed me... when Mama and the boys got home around 6:30 Nana asked if I could be held because she had to go to the bathroom, eat, and do stuff... she was tired- I wore her out, but that's partially because she doesn't feel good- she has to have surgery soon, but has to go to the doctor first to get it scheduled, so she's tired a lot.. next time maybe I'll take a nap with her- but she hardly EVER naps... but it's ok- I really liked hanging out with her for the day.

Hi Daddy! Uncle Nate, Mama, and I ran errands in the morning and hung out with my sister Daisy and brother Panzer for a bit... Nana and Grandpa went to Shipshewana to get my quilt this morning, so we were left by ourselves, which was nice.
When they got home, Mama had to make something for a party for tomorrow that she has to go to... then, Nana, Mama, and I went to run a few errands. Nana went in to Aldie's (it's a food store) and I FLIPPED OUT... I was done just "sitting/waiting" for Nana... and I knew they still had to go to Meijer and I didn't want to go... so... I threw a bit of a fit ;) Mama had to carry me through Meijer while they got random groceries... it probably looked really funny to other people because MOST babies stay in their car seats or in a carrier... but not me ;) As soon as Mama was carrying me down the aisles I fell asleep in her arms looking at the lights above me... yup. Mama kept laughing because people were like "ohhh, what a sweet little baby!" and I was sound asleep (after getting my way of course of being carried... I'll stop being spoiled when you get home.. sometimes I just like giving Mama a hard time :)

Hey Daddy! Mama, Uncle Nate and I hung out today... didn't do too much, but it was ok- I slept almost all day. We went over and hung out with Daisy for a little bit- Panzer too, but usually Panzer just sits and watches... it's cool though.
Mama's friend Jill came over this afternoon for a bit... she's a funny girl. She rode to Nana's house on a pink schwinn bike that has streamers, a basket, and a horn on it... Mama couldn't stop laughing at Jill. Uncle Nate, Jill, Mama, and I then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house- they were getting ready to go camping- so Grandma was making a frozen pizza, but she put in a paper pan in the oven so the smoke detectors went off and there was a lot of smoke- it was pretty funny, even though Grandma was getting REALLY frustrated because everyone kept questioning her if she knew what she was doing... hehe. Then, we had to go to Verizon to get Uncle Nate a new phone- his fell in a pool so yeah... uh oh ;)
Later tonight Nana gave me a bath- I LOVE baths- Mama could've, but Nana likes doing anything that she can with me because she says she needs to get in as much "Kenzie time" as she can in- she said she's going to miss us soooooooo much when we go back to KY, but she's also excited at the same time because you'll be home with us, and that's all that matters! YEAH!

HI DADDY! Ugh... your internet is NOT COOL. I know you already know this, but I just now figured it out... hopefully it gets back up so we can talk soon- Mama and I missed talking to you, but it's ok... just makes it that much more enjoyable when we DO talk to you.
Mama, Uncle Nate, and I hung out and played the Kinect for a bit today- well, Mama and Nate played and I watched them and moved my arms/legs to the music... I told you I like music! Mama and Nate kept laughing because I was trying to sleep, but the music just kept making my legs move!
Mama and Nana went to Meijer tonight so I stayed back with (Great) Aunt Jean... I was really stubborn with her tonight. Sometimes when I'm really hungry and tired I just don't really know what I want, but I DID want to eat- I was hungry, but anytime she would try to give me my bottle I spit it out or gagged, and she's not as stubborn as Mama when it comes to feeding me- Mama doesn't give up because she knows I'm hungry (Mama's more stubborn than me I think!), sooo... poor Aunt Jean tried feeding me for 45 minutes and I just kept spitting it out and playing games with her... hehe. When Mama got home I ate RIGHT AWAY for her... I know I can't win with her, so, I decided to stop playing games... all was fine and everyone snickered.
I hope things are going better for you daddy- I know you're going through a lot of stuff over there and people aren't thinking, and then it makes things harder for you, but just think!- you'll be home with us REALLY SOON! YEAH! CAN'T WAIT!

DADDY! I'M A MONTH OLD TODAY! :) Can you believe it?! Nana had to send Mama a text message (and called us) to remind us and wish me a happy "one month"... she does that kinda stuff ;)
So, today, Mama took Uncle Nate and his friend Sean to see my newborn pics... she JUST sent them to you- do you like them?! Did you see the one(s) where I'm sleeping but have a grin on my face?! I'm dreaming of you... I TOLD you I smile when I sleep! :) I smile when I'm awake too, but that's USUALLY just when I'm skyping you... Mama sees me smile when I sleep, sneeze, or talk to you... you should feel special :) Mama's kinda-friend (it's her old friend's mom)- Mrs. Geving came over and held me while they were gone... she's a nice lady- I liked her holding me, but then again, I like when just about anyone holds me. She talked to me and read me a People's magazine (I'm a well-rounded girl already dad). Mama (or someone) reads to me EVERY day... at least 30 minutes... no tv yet :( well, actually, I take that back, I get to watch the Tigers with grandpa, but other than that, nope. Wanna watch tv with me (or those Disney movies!?) when you get back?! I started to watch one of those movies but then passed out 10minutes into it... Mama liked it too, but SHE fell asleep 45 minutes into it.. nice huh??
When Nana got home we went out to the mall area to return some stuff and get some stuff for your guys' friends, Jen and Brennan- their wedding is in December (it's getting close- but Mama and I are JUST looking forward to you coming home!!!!!!) I didn't mind the ride b/c I LIKE car-rides, but then Mama and Nana kept sneaking in "one more quick stop" and I had it... we got to Gull Rd and I let them hear it... I was ticked... they went to one too many stops, and I started to get hungry (I wasn't THAT hungry, but again, didn't want them to do another stop), so they felt bad, quick got home, made me a bottle, and Nana fed me and held/cuddled/rubbed my back for AN HOUR! Yup... I know how to run the house over here :)
I loved skyping with you earlier today... sorry I fell asleep, but I figured you and Mama needed to chat by yourselves for a bit... hope you enjoyed it- it's not going to happen very often because when you got off skype I woke up and wasn't too happy that I missed out on prime-skype-time with you... just sayin'. Mama said I need to share you... psh, who does she think she is?! ;) JK... anyways, I love you so much daddy- thanks for making time for us girls- we LOVE it... we actually wait until you get on skype- we don't plan anything around the time you could possibly be on... you should definitely feel special :) Mama loves you too, but this is MY blog... so I'll finish saying I love you :)

Hey Daddy!
Hey there dad... we didn't do much today... just kinda hung out at the house. Mama and I went for a walk today- she wanted to run but it was too hot (she said you're going to give her grief because she told you specifically that she was going to go running) ;) I got a bath tonight- whoo, that's about as exciting as our day got... I already told you I like baths, but here's some other things I like (and don't like)...
I LIKE:
- skyping with you (of COURSE! It's my FAVORITE thing to do... really).
- when Mama plays me your book at night before I go to bed... I know she told you, but I like to babble back to you... it makes me think that I'm skyping with you... I can't wait until you get home so YOU can actually just read to me and talk to me :)
- snuggling with Mama in the morning... she doesn't get much (if anything done) while we do, but we like it- EVERY morning since I've been born we've cuddled. I'm really warm all the time (not a fever-type warmth, but I give off a LOT of heat)- just wait until I get to cuddle with you... you'll get super warm...and might get a bit wet IF my diaper leaks... it happens ;)
- When Mama carries me in the JEEP carrier you got me... nice pick dad- it's another fav of mine (next to Patches) :)
- Music... LOVE music... Mama thinks I'm going to be a dancer- I'm ALWAYS moving my feet whenever I hear music.
- Car rides... yup. LOVE THEM. I've only ridden in Nana's car, so I'm PUMPED to ride in our BMW from you!
- When people hold me.... and HATE when people put me down... SO, get ready for RR- you'll be holding me the WHOLE TIME... well, maybe when you're not playing golf... or, maybe?! :)
I DON'T LIKE:
- When Mama gets up from cuddling and I'm NOT ready... I'm not really a morning person dad... when you get home in December I'm sleeping in with you! Mama said you like to sleep in on the weekends (and that you DESERVE to sleep in).. but I know she's one of those "go getters" in the morning... so, you, me, and the critters are sleeping in on Saturdays ok?!
- When Mama plays the piano and gets "into it" and plays a bit loud OR when she makes mistakes... I'm a critic dad... it's just what I do.
- When my diaper or clothes need to be changed... leave me naked or clothed, but DON'T mess with me by taking off my clothes or diapers... it's just not cool.
- When my bottle is "room temp"... aghhhh. One of my BIGGEST pet-peeves... Mama will feed me and then I'll fall asleep or try to burp and she LEAVES MY BOTTLE OUT, which results in it being room temp... DON'T try to feed me a bottle room temp- I WON'T TAKE IT... I make these weird faces, stick out my lip (I know I'm going to get what I want when I get older... working it/testing it out now), and just spit out anything that comes in my mouth... aren't you excited to start feeding me actual food!?
Those are just some of the things I like/don't like... right now. Mama calls me a "Princess" sometimes b/c I'm THAT picky on stuff and usually tend to get my way... dad, I'm a baby still... like a month old, so Mama pleases me... I give it another month and then she'll start laying down the law... uh oh.

- When Mama plays the piano and gets "into it" and plays a bit loud OR when she makes mistakes... I'm a critic dad... it's just what I do.
- When my diaper or clothes need to be changed... leave me naked or clothed, but DON'T mess with me by taking off my clothes or diapers... it's just not cool.
- When my bottle is "room temp"... aghhhh. One of my BIGGEST pet-peeves... Mama will feed me and then I'll fall asleep or try to burp and she LEAVES MY BOTTLE OUT, which results in it being room temp... DON'T try to feed me a bottle room temp- I WON'T TAKE IT... I make these weird faces, stick out my lip (I know I'm going to get what I want when I get older... working it/testing it out now), and just spit out anything that comes in my mouth... aren't you excited to start feeding me actual food!?
Those are just some of the things I like/don't like... right now. Mama calls me a "Princess" sometimes b/c I'm THAT picky on stuff and usually tend to get my way... dad, I'm a baby still... like a month old, so Mama pleases me... I give it another month and then she'll start laying down the law... uh oh.

Hey there dad!
I hope you had sweet dreams and were dreaming of me- I'm always dreaming of you- during the day AND night... Mama dreams about you all the time too- we both smile while sleeping :) I hung out with Mama, Uncle Nate, and Aunt Briana all day today. After talking to you on skype (I can't believe I had to share you with Mama AND Aunt Briana...but I know they really enjoyed it) Uncle Nate hooked up the kinect- I was sleeping on Aunt Briana's chest but kept hearing Mama and Uncle Nate laugh and laugh... they really liked the gift you got us! Thanks daddy!
After dinner (Uncle Nate made dinner!) Mama and I went over to Grandma and Grandpa Lohman's house. I got to see my sister Daisy and brother Panzer again... I love them. Daisy tickles me with her nose anytime I'm near her. Panzer likes me too... but sometimes he's more interested in the other cats (Shadow and Penny). Dad.. you're going to have to have a talk with Daisy though.. Mama put MY blanket down on the floor so that I could see Daisy and she could get a better view of me and guess what?! Daisy snatched my blanket up and ran away! Everyone laughed and told her no quick, but I didn't mind sharing the blanket with her, but IF she takes ANY of my other toys like that again I WILL have a problem. So, can you have a chat with her? Thanks :) I love them so much and can't wait to live with them... Mama says once we move down to KY you'll be home that much sooner... YEAH! I love you daddy- you're my hero :)

Hi Daddy! It's Sunday here- we slept in so didn't make it to church. I like church... well, I like the music part, the talking part seems like a long time mostly, but the music is really nice. Mama played the piano for me today... I really like her playing but hate when she messes up... I make a really funny face every time she hits the wrong note... and it makes Mama laugh- she says she'll have to start practicing when I'm sound asleep because I'm quite the "critic".

Hey daddy! Today was the Kindleberger Festival. We didn't get up in time for the Parade, but we DID go out by the mall and ran errands with Nana. After running errands, Great Aunt Jean came over and babysat me so Nana and Mama could go to Meijers. When they got home, we all ate dinner (Great Aunt Jean, Nana, and Mama) then went to the "Sound of Music" play at the park. I really liked it- I did NOT like when everyone started clapping, but I love music, so kept kicking my legs to the beat, and loved the breeze and just being outside.
I got to go on my first golf-cart ride! Mama, Nana, and Great Aunt Jean were walking up the big hills in the park and a fire man gave them a ride (Mama didn't want one, but he was giving everyone rides up the hill).. it was fun- I can't wait though to go on a golf-cart with you! :)
When I got home Mama gave me a bath- I LOVE bathtime... but only when I'm wrapped up in a wet-warm blanket. I can't remember if Mama has told you yet, but ANYTIME I get a bath, I somehow get my foot out of the towel and put it in the water- I love kicking my foot (just one at a time) in the water... I like it a lot and it makes Mama and Nana laugh :)

Daddy! I got to meet your sister today (Aunt Briana)... she's super nice. Mama and her sat and talked for a few hours and Aunt Briana held me the WHOLE time... I'm spoiled huh? Then, us girls went on a walk- it was really hot out so we just went around the "big block", but it was really nice. I loved skyping you as usual... :)

Hi Daddy! I had an appointment today to get checked out... I had a really nice doctor... Mama was a bit upset because the dr put me on my tummy to see how well I could hold my head up (the dr said I was "advanced") but my belly button started bleeding- Mama was pretty uptight about it because last night, well EARLY this morning, like 1:30am my umbilical cord fell off! It didn't hurt me or anything, but it definitely freaked Mama out- it's not supposed to come off for another few weeks! Again, I'm fine... just giving Mama a run for her money ;) The rest of the afternoon Mama and I napped for a bit (everyone tells her to "nap when I nap")- she's still on drugs though, so I think that's why she's tired! ;)
People came over tonight to see me as well... it's kind of annoying because I just want to sleep and be in Mama's arms, but everyone wants to meet me! Hey Daddy!
We're going "home" today! I know it's not OUR house, but Mama said we're just staying here for a few months until we move back to KY to get ready for you to come HOME! :) We had to go to a "safety class" this morning before we left- it was TERRIBLE daddy... I slept through a lot of it, but it FREAKED mama out... she told Nana she was surprised anyone is alive today, because the lady who spoke kept saying a baby can die here, here, and here... it was crazy. She also talked about shaking babies and other terrible stuff... Mama hated the "class" but we HAD to go (everyone does before they leave).... anyways, we were glad to leave the hospital!
When Nana came to pick us up, the car wouldn't start... Nana and Grandpa found a marine who helped them jump-start the car... it wasn't a big deal at all... but geez dad, you picked out a sweet car for us! Mama said you got it for all of us, so thanks! I like it... a lot... I'll try to keep it as clean as possible, but I'm a baby so I can't make any promises ;)
When we got home, Uncle Mark and Aunt Em were there to greet us... we hung out for a bit and then we had dinner. Aunt Em put a diaper on me (wrong I'm sure... I didn't wiggle THAT MUCH to knock it off)... but anyways... Mama was carrying me and Nana asked where my diaper was... she took me to change me (Mama still can't walk and carry me)... but daddy... I made a HUGE mess in Nana and Grandpa's room... I went on the floor AND on the comforter... Mama started laughing (which was really painful because she has stitches inside), so Aunt Em had to come help... when she came in, Nana turned around to face Mama and Aunt Em and EVERYONE started laughing... I got it ALL on Nana too... hehe... I tried lightening the mood a bit... when we got home, Aunt Em was reading books to me, and she played me my FAVORITE book (which is the one you recorded) and Mama just started bawling,.. she's doing ok now, but she was pretty sad/bummed, and in a lot of pain, so I tried making everyone laugh... it worked :)
After dinner Mama had to go to Walmart to pick up her medicine and she got to ride one of those electric scooters... Em and Mark were laughing a lot and took pics of her... but that was the rest of the night... I'm heading to bed with Mama now... I'm super tired- it's rough being a baby! I love you daddy!

Daddy,
How's your day been? I'm glad we got to talk to you for a bit today... it's so funny because any time the nurses come in to check on us and Mama and I are talking to you, they tell us to enjoy our time with you and they'll be back... can we just say we're skyping you all day/night?! ;) Mama said we can't... but it's a nice thought... the nurses are really nice, but I'm telling you- they're ALWAYS checking in on us! Nana spent the night again last night, but she had to go to work today, so it was just Mama and I... it was actually nice, because besides the nurses, we didn't have a visitor... but don't feel bad- we LOVED just cuddling in Mama's hospital bed (she's still not able to hold me while standing, but she's starting to stand up!) Mama was really excited today because she was able to go to the bathroom by herself- I guess that's a pretty big deal when you're older.
When Nana came back, around 5pm, Mama took her FIRST shower! She was really excited- Nana had to help her a bit (Mama wasn't too happy about that- I guess taking a shower by yourself is a big deal too)... but then, Nana's neighbors came over to see us- the Lovely's and Palmer's... it was nice, but Mama was so tired and had JUST gotten out of the shower (don't worry- she was completely dressed in her hospital gown), and as soon as they were leaving, Great Aunt Jean, Great Uncle Al, Grandma Lohman, mom's Aunt Nancy, mom's Grandma, and your guys' friend Alisa came (Mama said she's more her friend, because she did some "bad things" to my "Uncle Jake")... then, JUST as everyone was starting to leave (I started crying, and Mama was nice, but said it was getting late), the nurses came in to check on us... I guess Grandpa Lohman was going to come up tonight, but Grandma Lohman told him we needed our rest... so when the nurses came into our room, Mama asked them if they could put a sign on the door to tell people we were done with visitors for the day/night... they were JUST about to put it on the door when Mama's Uncle Mike and Aunt Deb came up to be with us... she started crying a bit because she was just so tired of seeing people, but it was nice because they prayed for us AND YOU and that calmed Mama down a bit... but we were SO excited when they left because they nurse put the sign on the door, so Mama and I just relaxed and talked and prayed for you (Nana had to stay with Uncle Nate tonight)... I think we're going home tomorrow daddy! We're excited- the hospital is so nice here, but I'm ready to go to Nana and Grandpa's house to see all of my stuff! I love you so much daddy... I'm praying for you all the time and ALWAYS dreaming about you... can't wait to officially meet you! I love you so much!

Hey Daddy!
How's your day been going? I'm ONE DAY OLD! It was SO NICE to see/hear you again on skype... thanks for making time to talk to us :) It definitely made my day... I'm sorry I slept through the entire thing, but really, that's ALL I do (besides eat and dirty my diapers)... I know you want to be here and would do anything to be with us right now, but I also know that you're over there because that's where you're needed right now. Mama stayed up almost all night talking to me (and making sure I was breathing) and telling me all about you... she started at the very beginning of when you guys met (and how stubborn she was back then)... daddy, you put up with a LOT with Mama! I promise I won't be THAT stubborn ok?! She told me over and over how much you and her love me, which makes me feel so good... even though I already know that you guys love me more than anything. Then, we prayed for you- she said she prays ALL the time for you, so just know that we're both praying for you ALL THE TIME :)
Grandpa Timmons came up in the morning to hold me for a few hours while Nana went home to shower... when she got back, Mama's friend Claire came up (she totally interrupted our skype time with you, when she FIRST walked in the room, but then she got on her phone with her husband- he's deployed right now too)... Grandpa Timmons LOVED holding me and was sad that he had to go back to work, but I was excited Nana came back- I like her a lot- she was the first person to hold me (so she thinks she's EXTRA special). When Claire left, your guys' friend Ashlee and their baby, Ainsley came up to the hospital- it was nice to meet them... Mama said you and James are really good friends, and that when you get back we'll be hanging out with them... so I will be friendly and make friends with Ainsley... Mama told Nana that Aashlee has "calmed down" a lot since having Ainsley- I guess that's good?!
Then, Mama took a short nap while Nana held me, but then your guys' friend Mary came, then Caitlin, then Zach (Mama said he's like an Uncle to me because he's your best friend)... that's cool. How many "uncle's do I have though?! Mama said another "uncle" is Jake... and James... but then I have Uncle Nate, Uncle Mark, AND Uncle Lee... can we stop there? Dear Daddy,
Sorry for the wait! I know you and mama waited so patiently for me... but I FINALLY decided to make my appearance... well, I guess I didn't really decide... YOU guys just weren't patient enough ;) I know you guys are pretty stubborn, so I let you get your way- JUST this one time... but know that since I'm your guys' daughter, I'm a bit stubborn as well... (mama says I'm "strong willed"- I know it's the same thing, but it sounds a little nicer).
Anyways... I can't tell you HOW excited everyone was that you were able to skype us... I know mama was worried in the morning because things had changed a bit and she hadn't talked to you... she texted people asking them to pray for the internet... and what an answer to prayer- skype came up RIGHT when she got in the operating room! Do you know you were the FIRST person to see me? (well, besides the doctors)... mama was SO happy that you were there to talk to her through it... I heard you talking to her... and I heard her, but she didn't make a whole lot of sense because she was on drugs... but daddy, I'm SO HAPPY that you were the first person to see me! I know it helped mama and Nana because when I came out, not only did I have to be vacuumed out (did I not tell you that I'm stubborn?!), but I wasn't breathing... Nana knew something was wrong, but turned around to me so that mama wouldn't know... and because you were still talking to mama, she had no idea that something wasn't right... I didn't pass the first Apgar test, but 5minutes later I got the highest score! You should be proud of me :)
I thought I was pretty lucky that we got to skype you during the surgery, but then when I got in the recovery room with mama, we got to skype you again! Then, grandpa and Uncle Nate came in to see me... it was so funny because the FIRST thing they said was "oh my gosh, it's a mini-Caleb"... I guess I look like a lot like you :) Mama's friend, Jill came in after them, and brought me a birthday cake a balloons... it as really nice, and mama said that she's very sweet, but she's also REALLY "on top" of things like that. When we got into our hospital room, a lot of people came up to see us... grandpa (again), Great Aunt Jean, Great Uncle Al, Grandma and Grandpa Lohman. It was really nice, but really tiring for Mama... she was still on her drugs ;) She was hooked up to a machine that let her push a button every 7 minutes to get more medicine. When everyone left Mama and Nana got room service (dinner- don't worry, it's all covered and part of the stay!) and then Nana held me for a bit because Mama wasn't really able to... I slept pretty well and let Mama and Nana sleep a bit... but those darn nurses kept coming in to check on all of us- it seemed like JUST when we all got to sleep they'd come in and wake us all up to check out vitals...yeesh, so far, the only thing I like about this world is seeing you and Mama and hearing from you :) I love you so much daddy- so glad I'm your daughter- I'm the luckiest girl in the world!

Sorry for the wait! I know you and mama waited so patiently for me... but I FINALLY decided to make my appearance... well, I guess I didn't really decide... YOU guys just weren't patient enough ;) I know you guys are pretty stubborn, so I let you get your way- JUST this one time... but know that since I'm your guys' daughter, I'm a bit stubborn as well... (mama says I'm "strong willed"- I know it's the same thing, but it sounds a little nicer).
Anyways... I can't tell you HOW excited everyone was that you were able to skype us... I know mama was worried in the morning because things had changed a bit and she hadn't talked to you... she texted people asking them to pray for the internet... and what an answer to prayer- skype came up RIGHT when she got in the operating room! Do you know you were the FIRST person to see me? (well, besides the doctors)... mama was SO happy that you were there to talk to her through it... I heard you talking to her... and I heard her, but she didn't make a whole lot of sense because she was on drugs... but daddy, I'm SO HAPPY that you were the first person to see me! I know it helped mama and Nana because when I came out, not only did I have to be vacuumed out (did I not tell you that I'm stubborn?!), but I wasn't breathing... Nana knew something was wrong, but turned around to me so that mama wouldn't know... and because you were still talking to mama, she had no idea that something wasn't right... I didn't pass the first Apgar test, but 5minutes later I got the highest score! You should be proud of me :)
